The way forward is biofilm control
No matter what we do, we always have a biofilm in the oral cavity, just like we have on all mucous membranes and moist surfaces in the body. We need the biofilm because it is protective, but it is very important to have the right composition of micro-organisms and we can influence that. The solution is not just to kill bacteria, but to improve the composition.
It is very important to understand that, above all, we need to create a healthy environment that supports a healthy biofilm of beneficial bacteria. With our biofilm control system, we kill bacteria initially using light-activated disinfection (LAD), and as a very important part of the procedure, we follow up with a supplement of Lactobacillus brevis and plantarum to strengthen the biofilm.
